This is one hoses I use to change water quickly. It's a 1.5 inch pool vacuum hose with military spec cam lock quick disconnect fittings. I call them the baby blue anaconda (Python water changer joke, comment if you're nerdy enough to get it!), baby because I have a 60 foot 2 inch blue hose called the blue anaconda. Attach a simple pipe hook and you can drain a 220 gallon tank in about 5 minutes by siphoning. I have several sump pumps and a pond o vac 3 with this same connection so I can drain, pump and vac water, which are daily tasks for me. #goldfishgarage #goldfishunion #goldfishpond #goldfish #goldfishunion #goldfishkeepers #goldfishbreeder

I had my roof replaced a year ago. The shingles had copper granules in them to prevent moss. With the rain barrel system being developed I've wondered if there is enough copper to cause harm to fish or live food cultures. Here's my first test, 100% rain water from the roof with daphnia and mosquito larvae. So far no losses, daphnia are very sensitive creatures.
