Bristol Shubunkin (Metalic Parker x Matte Wolf) 6/11/11

Saw spawning activity this morning so I squeezed her in to a petri dish and grabbed a matte male from the Wolf OX strain.  Should result in a good outcross (OX) and give 100% calicos.
Female metallic (Parker Strain)

Male Matte (Wolf ox strain)

Transparent Bristol Shubunkin Goldfish 60 days post spawn

See them from the beginning.
These are the homozygous culls out of a Bristol Shubunkin spawn.  They are half the size of the calico heterozygotes and a third the size of the homozygous wild type siblings.  This is my second species to develop/isolate a transparent fish in, a world's first?  Here is my first transparent fish in a zebrafish I call absolute.  I've sent it to reachers in 18 countries.  I came to the concept of a metallic eyed transparent zebrafish while thinking about these fish and how weak they are with their all black eyes.  Hopefully the absolute goldfish will be useful to science also.

The Fry Tub Wet Table

The plywood tub is on recirculating water, the fry tubs float, air is weighted with ceramic insulators and the airstone is used to slowly drain water from the fry tubs back to the recirc system.  First tub is Matsuyama x Itoh (Lains) 3/17/11,  Matsuyama x Oishi (Lains) 3/17/11, Bristol Shubunkin (Parker Strain) (Calico x Calico incross) 3/18/11.
