I was gifted this bible of MEDAKA biology at the 2009 Zebrafish meeting in Rome, Italy by Professor Kiyoshi Naruse. Today he visited my office. My day ended with an hour long conversation of MEDAKA and goldfish genetics, development and especially pigmentation. As he was showing MEDAKA mutants and phenotypes I showed him goldfish versions in my Instagram feed.
