Aluminum engrave-able stock label

These are floating stock labels that can travel with the fish from spawn to adulthood. 

The aluminum is heavy duty waterproof duct tape for hvac. The float is 1/2 styrofoam sheet. 

This batch including documenting for the blog took less than 5 mins. 

I also use vertical strips on tanks or equipment to log notes or on plant pots or stakes to have a long term fade proof label. We'll see how long the adhesive lasts in this application.

Zebrafish Diagnostic and Health Service

It was a bit of a surprise, but I've been officially added to the Zebrafish Diagnostic and Health Service team at work.  I've been providing consultations in assistance to our pathology service for years in the areas of colony management, water quality, systems maintenance and foods.

  

Recently, a new joint service was founded and I was included in the team.  It's quite an honor and I'm the only team member who is not a PhD, DVM or certified pathologist (many of the team are several or all of the above).  Won't be much of a change, but the recognition and inclusion are appreciated.
