It was a busy day. Met with a water Lily grower who wants to control duck week in his greenhouses. I of course recommended goldfish and suggested that I could let some of my fish eat it for him. If all works out I might have a wonderful place to ranch my fish. If all works out grow out space/over wintering space could be virtually unlimited as there are dozens of greenhouses!
Then I met with a pond filtration customer to go watch/help remove a neighbors large koi so they could be taken to the pond shop for 4 weeks of warm quarantine for Koi herpes before they were added to her pond. It was sad to see the end of a beautiful pond. The owner passed away and his wife couldn't take care of it anymore. I'm going to remove the filters and put them to use here.
There were 8 goldfish in the pond and no one wanted them. The koi people wanted a very nice sarassa male with long white fins. When she said she wanted one I hoped she didn't want the same one I wanted.
He's a metallic red and white finned Jade Seal male. Here's an underwater (Olympus stylus 770sw) close up showing off his breading stars.
