Original 1937 Dr. Seuss lithograph

vintage original 1937 Dr. Seuss lithograph, this was a very early creation by the iconic cartoon illustrator/children's book author, with a more adult vein of humor than he would work in in his later career but featuring the whimsical and half fantastical animal creations which only he could imagine.  Seuss created one year's worth of these images for the Thomas D Murphy calendar company's mailing calendar series, (called the It's a Great World line) and this was a calendar sample lithograph that was never distributed or publicly used.

It is rare, and a very early and extremely well preserved Dr. Seuss collectible that came directly out of the archives of the Thomas D Murphy calendar company, Ohio.  It was printed on their signature low pulp content, high gloss textured paper, and so has suffered no toning or brittleness.  A wonderful find, measures 3" x 4 3/4" with a scene of a man carrying an oversized fish tank up a flight of stairs, with tagline that reads "Gol Darn Ya....Quit Starin At Me!"

Fishhouse Suntuf roof

The ends are framed in.  The lumber is pressure treated 2x4 attached with deckmate ceramic coated screws.  The vertical end supports are capped with a metal fence bracket.

A side view.  The roof is suntuf polycarbonate ruffing panel.

Things are looking up.

Each frame braces two purlins on each side.

A mock up of the additional cross bracing yet to be installed.

This diagonal and horizontal will provide lateral support

Aquabead 6 cubic foot installation part 4 UV

Cutting a glued fitting off a proprietary UV fitting.  Risky and rarely works.

Sometimes things just work out.

Replacing the bulb in the Zapp Pure Stainless UV.

A close up for future reference.

Love it when things line up.  Just one more fitting.
